Welcome to the EMDR Skills in Action Series. This course starts with a 5 minute Introduction to the course. It is recommended that you download the Accreditation Form which outlines the competencies for Phases 1-8 of EMDR that will be covered in Modules 1-6.
In Module 1, we cover the competencies for Phase 1 of the EMDR Standard Protocol. Following the webinar, you can watch the first video from Diane's EMDR therapy, showing the Identification of Safety Factors as part of Phase 1 History Taking & Treatment Planning.
In Module 2, we cover the competencies for Phase 2 of the EMDR Standard Protocol. Following the webinar, you can watch 3 videos from Diane's EMDR therapy, showing the development of resources (Calm Place & Container) and specific procedural preparation for the first processing session.
In Module 3, we focus on the competencies for Phase 3 EMDR. As Phase 3 & 4 typically occur together, you will view an example of Phase 3 from Diane's therapy in the next Module.
In Module 4, we cover the competencies required for Phase 4 of EMDR. Following the webinar, you can watch two videos from Diane's therapy. The first demonstrates Phase 3 & 4 where we began to process the first target memory. As this was an incomplete session, the second video shows re-evaluation of the first target memory and the continuation of Phase 4 Desensitisation.
Please note Video 4 includes clinical material referencing childhood sexual abuse within a real EMDR therapy session.

Module 6 covers the competencies for Phases 6-8 of EMDR. Following the webinar, you can watch how these phases play out across 6 videos from Diane's therapy, addressing past, present and future targets.
